India has planned a major footwear and leather products trade mission to the UK. The India Footwear & Leather Products trade show is taking place in London on 19 and 20 October 2023, at the Hotel Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge.

Speaking to Footwear Today, Sanjay Leekha, Chairman, Council of Leather Exports (which organises the show), said: “The British market is a very key market for Indian leather goods manufacturers. We are bringing over 50 key manufacturer suppliers to the UK this month and shall showcase the latest in designs for footwear, bags, belts, gloves, wallets, small leather products and harness and saddlery products.

“For Made in UK suppliers, delegation also consists of leading manufacturers of footwear components and finished leather companies.

“British suppliers would meet top Indian suppliers at Hotel Park Plaza and get to evaluate the sample products too.”

Interested UK companies can register their attendance HERE.

Mr Leekha added: “We are thankful to the British Footwear Association for their overwhelming support and look forward to a fruitful business mission.

The UK is amongst the top three markets for India. With annual global exports of over £4 billion, Indian leather footwear and leather products are preferred by global buyers all over the world. Today India is the second largest producer of footwear, the second largest exporter of leather garments, the third largest exporter of saddlery and harness, and the fourth largest exporter of leather goods.
