_T6A1727 Logo-Marcel-Ostertag Tamaris is launching its first collection developed in cooperation with a known face from the fashion world. The shoemakers from Detmold and the Berlin fashion designer Marcel Ostertag presented their first collaborative shoe collection during the Berlin Fashion Week. Ostertag sent his first designs down the runway in an impressive show before presenting them again to a select professional audience at the ‘Tamaris Shoe Gallery’. The designer edition ‘Tamaris by Marcel Ostertag’ and its eight models will hit the shops in August 2017.

He is a mover and shaker, a brand, a colourful personality with clear values: there are many sides to Marcel Ostertag, and one of them is fashion. His runway shows belong to the real crowd-pullers at the New York and Berliner Fashion Week. His creations embody a deftly stylish and creative interpretation of zeitgeist, coupled with the promise of quality ‘made in Germany’.

Marcel Ostertag doubtless belongs to Germany’s most innovative and confidently elegant fashion designers. Now he has created a designer edition exclusively for Tamaris that catches the eye with its clear lines, intricately worked details, artisan quality and comfort. His claim, passion and creativeness find their perfect expression in this very special collection: stylish and fashionable footwear that remains wearable and lets every woman feel unique, extravagant and nevertheless grounded.

The designer says about his collection: “Tamaris and Marcel Ostertag – that’s a collaboration with substance and heart. We want our designs to make girls and women happy, to give them beautiful things to wear without ever being out of place. Fashion simply doesn’t work without shoes. And the same is true vice versa. That’s why Tamaris and I are the ‘perfect match’.”

Ostertag is fulfilling a personal dream by developing his first own shoe collection. “I have wanted to design a shoe collection for some time now, but it’s hard of course for a more recent label like mine, because you don’t really know how much work it takes to produce a shoe. Developing a perfect shoe last alone is in a world of its own. That’s why I was looking for an experienced shoe partner who was keen to collaborate with a young designer .” And Ostertag confirms that Tamaris has managed to produce each of his designs precisely the way he had envisioned. The Designer Edition and its eight models are based on Ostertag’s new autumn/winter collection ‘Revolution’.

Made 100 percent of leather, the shoe line impresses with the delicacy of its intricate flounces, juxtaposed with the progressive plateau heels and elaborate lacing. The core colours in the collection are cognac, black, pine green, grey and old rosé, interpreted in a broad variety of shoes such as plateaus and dandy lace-ups, overknees, sneakers or plimsoles.

The professional world was convinced by the uniqueness of the models at the designer’s runway show and at the ‘Tamaris Shoe Gallery’ as well. The pop-up event for bloggers, media representatives and Tamaris affiliates provided a premium setting for the high-quality Designer Edition, while also documenting the entire development of the shoe collection from the initial sketch to the finished model. Marcel Ostertag attended the event to present his vision, ideas and inspiration for ‘Tamaris by Marcel Ostertag’.

The collection will be available to buy from selected specialists and online dealers from August 2017.
