James Southall Ltd, the parent company of Start-rite Shoes Ltd, has announced that Ian Watson will be joining its Board, as Chief Executive.
For the past eight years, Ian has been European Managing Director of Britax Childcare, based in Ulm Germany, and has a wide experience of international brands and markets.
Ian’s appointment follows the announcement that Peter Lamble is to step down as the company’s joint Chairman/CEO after 20 years. Peter will remain in a key non-executive role on the James Southall Board.
Ian will commence his role at the beginning of February, where he will join Stephen Riley, who joined the board last November as Non-Executive Chairman.
Ian said: “I’m delighted to be joining a business steeped in heritage and with such a premium brand position. I look forward to utilising my expertise to build on the successful work of Peter.”
Stephen said: “Ian and I are very pleased to have Peter’s invaluable experience available to us as we embark on a new and exciting stage in the company’s journey.”
