Harrogate Fashion Week, the first show of the season, held on Sunday 26th & Monday 2 th January was pronounced a great success by both exhibiting brands and visitors alike. It’s biggest edition to date, the show hosted over 100 brands, making the show 65% bigger than its first edition in July 2018.
Commenting on the growing show’s success, Director Sarah Moody reported: “This was our biggest show to date bringing together some great brands, many of which chose HFW rather than their usual venues of Moda and Pure. We are hugely encouraged that the majority have rebooked for our next show in July, which we hope will be bigger and better again.”
Harrogate holds a special place in the fashion industry, with the spa town becoming known for its friendly and welcoming atmosphere. First time exhibitor Nick Williams from Marble commented: “The show has been brilliant for us; we will be back in July. We loved the friendly atmosphere from the security team when we arrived, the free tea & coffee for us on set up and the complimentary steamers to use. All these added touches make our lives easier.”
The shows visitor numbers continue to grow, with many exhibitors gaining new accounts and renewing relationships with previous stockists. Exhibitor Ian Campbell Smith from Rino & Pelle said: “It was a great show, we loved being in Harrogate and are really pleased with our results. We picked up both new customers and some boutiques that we had lost some time ago.” Director WendyAdams commented “Our visitors numbers saw a big increase with some great independents attending all of whom gave us lovely feedback about the show.”
The organisers were also delighted to have quality shops attend from all parts of the country, Marian Mckenna from La Creme Boutique, Ireland said: “Absolutely loved the show, lovely stand sizes, easy to navigate. Heating is comfortable. A relaxed environment that allows me to spend more timebuying. Great hotels all within walking distance.”
Marians of Perth also commented: “Calm environment, great brands with lots of new brands found to take back to the shop!”
The team look forward to welcoming exhibitors and visitors to the next edition which will run from 26 th to 27 th July at the Harrogate Convention Centre. As Kirktown Garden Centre, Aberdeen says– “Don’t know why anyone wouldn’t just do all of their business in Harrogate, a fantastic two days. Truly enjoyed the experience.”
