The Pikolinos Group has announced that it finished the 2022-23 fiscal year with record turnover of €138 million. With business volume up 29 per cent from the previous year, the group set an all-time high in turnover in the first year managed entirely by the executive team – made up of the second generation of the Perán family, the three children of company founder Juan Perán.

Led by Juan Manuel, Rosana and Carolina Perán, the Pikolinos Group saw €138 million in turnover, fuelled mainly by sales at the parent company, Pikolinos, totalling over €126 million, with Spain, the United States, Europe, Latin America and China the main markets in terms of volume, up 25 per cent from the previous year.

Plus, in 2024 the Pikolinos Group is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Pikolinos brand – an important year for the whole company, “during which there will be time for celebrating without losing sight of our efficiency goals” it said.

“We continue moving forward with our Strategic Corporate Social Responsibility Plan, and every year we hit new milestones that bring the group’s companies closer to our goal of improving sustainability,” said Juan Manuel. “We’re kicking off 2024 having made great strides both at our production centres and on a corporate level.”

The parent company Pikolinos Intercontinental received the CORRESPONSABLES award from Fundación Corresponsables, recognising its best practices in social responsibility, sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals. The award was for the Product life cycle analysis project that calculates the environment impact of the two brands – Pikolinos and Martinelli – to improve season after season.

The study looks at everything from the supply of raw materials to the end of the shoes’ life, taking into account 15 key environmental variables. For this, the company set up a database with a full inventory of its shoe components, working closely with its suppliers and technical team to identify the materials with the greatest environmental impact and implement actions to replace them with others that have less of an impact. Thanks to this, Pikolinos has been granted ISO 14064 certification in Ecodesign.

As well as this, not only has Pikolinos Intercontinental been rated a Socially Responsible Corporation, and is in the public registry of organisations of the Valencian Regional Ministry of Sustainable Economy, Productive Sector, Trade and Employment, but Pikokaizen, one of the group’s production centres in Spain, has received several certifications that consolidate the group’s commitment to sustainability.

One of the most important is the Amfori BSCI audit, which it just passed with the highest marks. Amfori BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) is one of the main social auditing protocols in the world.

Pikokaizen has also successfully renewed its Zero Waste certification, thanks to the waste-management system that reuses raw materials. The purpose of all this hard work is to slash waste and encourage reuse. This production centre also won the Healthy Company award in May 2023 from Mutua Maz, recognising its initiatives to improve the work environment.
