Current marketing figures, nearing the 90% mark, attest to continued gowth of the MOMAD Shoes event.
The national and international footwear industry is reaffirming its commitment to MOMAD Shoes, the International Footwear and Accessories Trade Show, as the main industry event for Spain and Portugal. Scheduled to take place from 4 to 6 March at Feria de Madrid, IFEMA reports that the marketing of its exhibition space is progressing at a brisk pace, with nearly 90% of the floor space already taken up.
The show expects to exceed the 500 brands exhibited at its last edition. This growth can be put down to the incorporation of new firms that are confident that the show will serve as a platform to promote their products in the Spanish and Portuguese markets.
Brands taking part in MOMAD Shoes for the first time will join prestigious Made in Spain footwear sector stalwarts that have once again signed up for this edition, including Mascaró, Mayoral, Pons Quintana, Pura López, Robert Clergerie, Lodi & Gadea, Chie Mihara, Pertini, Luisetti, Victoria, Exé, Chica 10, Xti, , Coolway and Mustang¸ among others.
Moreover, the event’s importance continues to grow abroad, as attested by the increasing number of exhibitors from other countries, which reflects the organisers’ commitment to internationalise the show. Indeed, foreign exhibitors currently account for 15% of the total.
New Catwalk
For its third edition, MOMAD Shoes has incorporated novelties geared towards making the event more dynamic and improving the experience of both exhibitors and visitors alike. Accordingly, Hall 7 is to have a MOMAD Catwalk, a new area designed to showcase and publicise what exhibitors have to offer. There will be fashion parades on each of the event’s three days. This catwalk will be located in the Winter Terrace area, the event’s rest and meeting-point zone, which will also be home to a host of interesting entertainment, leisure and culinary initiatives.
Show exhibits are to be classified by product type. For instance, the Urban & Young sector in Hall 5 will showcase urban and sports footwear, as well as the latest trends. Meanwhile, Hall 7 will be dedicated to casual, urban, physiological and comfort wear in the Casual sector; handcrafted and artisanal exhibits will be catered for in the Contemporáneo sector and the latest trends in footwear and handbags from the big national and international brands will be found in the Espacio Metro sector. New footwear firms will be presenting their collections at EGO.
Moreover, the Kids sector, to be found in the area connecting Halls 5 and 7, will feature a sneak peek at upcoming children’s footwear trends.
Sustainabile Shoes
Lastly, in keeping with its commitment to encouraging sustainability and responsibility in the footwear industry, as well as to showcase a fast-growing market sector, MOMAD Shoes is once again opting for responsible fashion by way of its new sustainable shoe area, Shoes Sostenible. This area will bring together a selection of footwear brands and accessories that do business ethically.
In addition to the exhibition area, MOMAD Shoes will host numerous parallel activities, among them the MOMAD Forum, an area offering information and knowledge on interesting initiatives to help businesses increase innovation and competitiveness, not to mention several exhibitions focusing on the footwear universe.
National and International Buyers’ Programme
With a view to contributing to the promotion, development and opening of new markets for the exhibitors, an ambitious buyers’ programme has been organised for the event which, in this edition, will be focusing on the Middle East and Latin America.
Registration for professionals wishing to visit MOMAD Shoes is now open at www.ifema.es. MOMAD Shoes will be open continuously from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm on the first two days of the event, and from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on the last day.
