Today, September 7th 2017, the managing directors of CA-PRICE Schuhproduktion GmbH & Co. KG and Service Industries Ltd., Jür-gen Cölsch and Omar Saeed, accompanied by the German Ambassador Martin Kobler, put the largest Pakistani solar facility into operation.

The plant ensures that annually over 1.2 million pairs of CAPRICE shoes are produced with solar energy. On a 12.000 square metre property next to the CAPRICE shoe factory in Lahore, 3.125 solar panels were in-stalled for approximately one million euros. The photovoltaic system will supply the factory with one megawatt of electricity.

At the solemn inauguration, which was shown live on a LED video wall in the CAPRICE shoe factory in Pirmasens (Germany), Jürgen Cölsch said: “This facility is going to be part of a sustainable and innovative work environment, in addition to our striving for efficiency and effec-tiveness and our search for better footwear solutions, we must also take the environment and the people into consideration”.
