What the retailers had to say:

“The sale period can be a real eye opener to a retailer.  Some styles don’t sell and we often make the presumption that people don’t like it,  even though we were sure it was a winner when we bought it. However, when the sale starts you start to see the style fly off the shelf, what does it mean? As a retailer you did pick a winner,  however it was not at your customer base price point.  Many of our customers have told us they wouldn’t pay over £130 for a certain boot but at 20-30% off it changes things.  Listen to your customers more and tailor your buying patterns. This AW14 80% of the styles I have chosen to stock are under £79.99 and with the quality of the non-leather footwear brands improving so much we can have something for everyone and a higher chance of selling through at full margin. Hold that thought…….”
Donna Read, Shooze With Sole.

“It’s very early in the season, but where we have brought stock in early especially Spring Boots it has worked well. Tamaris is selling well and one Spring boot has sold out already. Mjus trainers and boots have had a good response as well. I think TBS canvas is going to do well as we are already  moving a few pairs. Earth  Spirit has picked up where it left off last season  and is becoming a known brand with customers waiting for it to arrive  Our plan of offering 4 ranges per season seems to be working as customers are starting to realise if they don’t buy when they see something it will be gone. It also gives us the fact that the collection is changing all the time with new product arriving every week.  A bit of good weather around Easter and we should have a good season.”
